Crispy Udon Snack “Marugame Shake‐Pippi” to Launch from June 24!

The Sanuki udon specialty shop Marugame Seimen, committed to the joy of handmade and freshly prepared flavors, is introducing a new “udon experience” following the popular “Marugame Udo‐nuts.” From Tuesday, June 24, they will launch a crispy fried‐udon snack called Marugame Shake‐Pippi, available in three varieties.

What is “Pippi”?
“Pippi” is the word for “udon” in the Sanuki dialect. It’s inspired by a simple, traditional snack from Kagawa (the udon heartland) featuring fried udon. Marugame Seimen uses 100% domestically produced wheat, salt, and water to make their udon fresh daily. Each noodle strand of Marugame Shake‐Pippi is lightly coated in batter and fried to crisp perfection. Through careful tweaking of the batter coating and frying time, they’ve achieved an astonishingly light and delightfully crunchy texture.

How to Enjoy
The base snack is plain‐crispy. You pick your favorite powder—Endless Consommé, Nori‐Salt Madness, or Sugar‐Butter Temptation—take a spoonful, pour it into the bag of Shake‐Pippi, seal it, and shake well.
