All 12 Cafes & Restaurants Revealed! Haneda Airport's New "Sora Chika"

Haneda Airport's New "Sora Chika"

Haneda Airport, one of Japan's major gateways to the sky, has become a bustling hub for more than just travelers. Thanks to its convenient access from central Tokyo, many people now visit on weekends for shopping and dining. To keep pace with this growing demand, the food court on the first basement floor of Terminal 1 has been completely renovated.

On September 10, 2025, a new food zone called "Sora Chika" was born.

The concept is "the start and end of a journey." The area brings together 12 restaurants to meet the diverse needs of airport visitors. You can enjoy a full meal before a flight, grab a tea break, or pick up a bento box to eat on the plane. The selection includes popular Japanese dishes like tonkatsu, kaisendon (seafood bowls), soba, ramen, and Western-style food, along with perfect souvenirs like pies. There's something for everyone, no matter who you're with.

For example, you could treat yourself to a delicious meal after a long day of work before heading home, or enjoy some gelato while you wait to see off or welcome someone. You can even buy some prepared food to take home, so you don't have to worry about an empty fridge after returning from a trip.

The food court has around 200 seats, offering a spacious and relaxed atmosphere. It's a comfortable spot for everyone, whether you have a suitcase or are traveling with a family and a stroller.

Now, let's introduce all 12 restaurants.

Café & Bar BAR RAGE

Café & Bar BAR RAGE

Step into BAR RAGE, an unexpectedly sophisticated bar designed by renowned Japanese architect Hiroshi Naito. The striking facade, crafted from local Hyuga-sugi cedar, gives way to an elegant interior with a wall of liquor bottle dispensers that feels worlds away from a typical airport bar.

The bar's theme is "Made in Japan," with a strong focus on domestic ingredients for everything from fruits and beers to juices and whiskies. The extensive menu features over 80 kinds of liquor, including rare Japanese whiskies, draft craft beers, and their signature "Seasonal Fruit Martini," made with fresh, hand-picked fruits.

If you don't drink alcohol, you can still enjoy a unique beverage. The "Seasonal Fresh Mixed Juice," created by a skilled mixologist, is a one-of-a-kind blend of fresh vegetables, fruits, herbs, and spices, offering a taste you've likely never experienced before.

In addition to drinks, BAR RAGE also serves freshly made food from their own kitchen, including a "Hot Dog with Hinomoto Pork Sausage from Kumamoto Prefecture" on fluffy Hokkaido wheat bread, and charcuterie perfect for pairing with wine.

With its menu spanning from morning to late-night, BAR RAGE is a perfect spot to relax and de-stress with a delicious meal or drink before or after your flight.

The signature menu is "Omelet Rice" with irresistible fluffy and creamy eggs. They offer a lineup of 4 varieties including "Omelet Rice with Demi-glace Sauce" with its deep richness and umami, "Omelet Rice with Truffle Cream Sauce," "Omelet Rice with Craft Ketchup Sauce," and "Omelet Rice with Spice Curry Sauce." Kuriya Kurogi Jun-chan (廚 くろぎ じゅんちゃん)

Kuriya Kurogi Jun-chan

A tonkatsu specialty restaurant supervised by Jun Kuroki, the owner of the kappo restaurant 'Kurogi' in Daimon, Tokyo. What one of Japan's leading representative Japanese cuisine chefs creates is a unique "Tokyo tonkatsu" that incorporates Japanese aesthetic sensibilities.

The "tonkatsu," where the umami of lean and fatty meat harmonize exquisitely, comes in two varieties: loin cutlet and fillet cutlet. The coating, fried crispy and light, is crunchy, and the "tonkatsu" filled with juicy meat juice has good bite, with the sweetness of pork spreading smoothly in the mouth, leaving a lingering aftertaste.

Kuriya Kurogi Jun-chan

The recommended "Tokyo Tonkatsu Haneda Special Loin Cutlet Set (with Mini Curry)" includes rice, miso soup, grated radish, and a mini curry with egg yolk. They also lineup "Kurogi's Loin Cutlet Curry" and "Kurogi's Fillet Cutlet Curry" that combine the original curry concentrating the natural flavors of ingredients with crispy cutlets.

For rice, they use "Ryu no Hitomi," which has a chewy, soft texture that Japanese people prefer. The excellent compatibility with "tonkatsu" is truly the skill of a master craftsman. We want to taste both "tonkatsu" and "Japanese-style curry," which are also popular in Europe, at the same time.

SOBA AZUMINO

"Japanese soba" is indispensable when discussing Japanese food culture. The soba uses fresh soba made with white buckwheat flour to match the salt broth tsuyu, with a particular blend that allows you to firmly feel the texture. The ni-hachi soba using Hokkaido buckwheat flour and domestic wheat is stone-ground at Nagano Prefecture's "Kurashina Flour Mill." 'Juchheim,' with over 100 years of history, delivers new pies while maintaining their belief of "creating smiles beyond sweets." Using butter instead of margarine or substitute oils. Pies baked crispy and light using abundant domestic butter are proud dishes that spread fragrant aroma and richness the more you chew.

The signature product is "Kobe Beef Meat Pie" using Kobe beef mince. The 432-layer pie made by mixing domestic butter crumbles with crispy, flaky, crumbly texture, spreading butter's fragrant aroma and richness in your mouth afterward. The filling uses Kobe beef mince from Kobe's long-established butcher shop 'Oi Meat Shop,' stir-fried with chopped onions and boiled eggs in simple seasoning. The simple seasoning brings out the meat's umami even more.

The sweet pie standard "Red Apple Apple Pie" features chunky apple filling visible through lattice-pattern pastry with Baumkuchen underneath! Seasonal pies include "Marron Pie" until around November. They sometimes use seasonal fruits, so keep checking. There are also 3-piece boxes, and since they're beloved sweets by everyone, they'd make great souvenirs.

They also sell sustainable craft beer "KOBE Baumkuchen Brew" utilizing non-standard Baumkuchen. We'd like to taste it with crispy meat pies.
